Marmox Soundboard
Marmox Soundboard is an impact sound reduction board designed for use beneath ceramic and porcelain tiled floors. It helps reduce footfall noise transferring into rooms below while also acting as a decoupling layer to protect tiles and grout.
By combining a resilient rubber-foam acoustic layer with an XPS insulation core, Soundboard creates a break between the tiled surface and the structural floor, improving both acoustic comfort and floor performance.

Frequently asked questions
What type of sound does Marmox Soundboard reduce?
Marmox Soundboard is designed to reduce impact sound such as footsteps and movement noise transferring through tiled floors into rooms below.
Is Marmox Soundboard suitable for bathrooms?
Yes. The board itself is waterproof and suitable for wet areas when joints and perimeters are sealed correctly.
What is the difference between 8 mm and 12 mm boards?
Both thicknesses offer similar impact sound reduction, but the 12 mm board provides improved thermal insulation.
Will Soundboard help prevent tiles cracking?
Yes. The decoupling layer helps absorb minor subfloor movement, reducing stress transferred to tiles and grout.
Does this product help with building regulations?
Marmox Soundboard can assist in improving impact sound performance for Part E requirements, but overall compliance depends on the full floor build-up and installation.
