Ardex K 40 FLOW Levelling and Smoothing Compound 22kg

ARDEX K 40 FLOW is a rapid-drying, high-flow leveling and smoothing compound designed for interior floors. It is ideal for use over primed timber, plywood, and underfloor heating systems. It can be applied from 3mm to 40mm thick.

USE

ARDEX K 40 FLOW is designed to level and smooth internal subfloors in a single application. It is suitable for use on various substrates including concrete, cement/sand screeds, anhydrite screeds, stone, terrazzo, ceramic tiles, and timber floors.

PRIMING

Prime all surfaces to improve working time, maintain flow life, and prevent air bubbles.

• Cement/sand or gypsum screeds: 1 part ARDEX P 51 Primer to 3 parts water.
• Concrete subfloors: 1 part ARDEX P 51 Primer to 2 parts water.
• Timber: Use neat ARDEX P 51 Primer and allow it to dry.

MIXING

Use 5¼ to 5½ litres of water per 22kg bag. For thinner layers, use the maximum water content. Stir thoroughly until lump-free, using an ARDEX mixing paddle with a slow-speed drill (600-1000 rpm).

APPLICATION

Pour the mixed mortar onto the prepared subfloor and spread with a steel trowel or float. Fresh mixes can be trowelled into existing material up to 30 minutes after application. For large areas, consider pumping ARDEX K 40 FLOW.

Spike rollers are optional, as a trowel or gauging tool provides an excellent finish. Apply at temperatures above 5°C.

COVERAGE

A 22kg bag of ARDEX K 40 covers approximately 5m² at 3mm thickness, similar to competitor products that claim 5m² per 25kg bag at the same thickness.

STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE

Store ARDEX K 40 FLOW in unopened packaging, off the ground, in cool, dry conditions, and protected from drafts. If stored correctly, its shelf life is 12 months from the date on the packaging.
