Mapei Mapeproof One Coat Damp-Proof Membrane
Mapei Mapeproof One Coat is a two-component, single-coat epoxy damp-proof membrane designed to control residual, static and construction moisture in suitable subfloors. It creates a continuous surface moisture barrier before the installation of resilient, textile and approved wood floor coverings.
Product Description
- Professional two-component epoxy damp-proof membrane.
- Applied as a single continuous coat.
- Controls residual, static and construction moisture.
- Suitable for properly prepared cementitious and calcium sulphate-based subfloors.
- Creates a moisture-control layer before compatible floor preparation products and floor coverings are installed.
- Applied using a suitable trowel or roller.
- Black colour helps the installer identify missed or insufficiently covered areas.
- Suitable for residential, commercial and public flooring projects.

Suitable Applications
- Mechanically prepared power-floated concrete subfloors.
- Prepared concrete incorporating an effective structural DPM.
- Sand and cement screeds installed over an effective moisture barrier.
- Cementitious subfloors with moisture above 75% RH and below 97% RH.
- Unheated calcium sulphate or anhydrite screeds with moisture levels up to 90% RH.
- Subfloors being prepared for compatible vinyl and other resilient flooring.
- Subfloors being prepared for compatible carpet and textile flooring.
- Suitable cementitious subfloors before the installation of approved wood flooring.
Surface Preparation
- Confirm that the subfloor incorporates an effective structural damp-proof membrane.
- The substrate must be strong, stable and suitable for the intended flooring installation.
- Mechanically prepare dense or power-floated concrete to remove laitance and surface contamination.
- Remove dust, loose material, grease, oil, wax, paint and curing compounds.
- Remove any material that could prevent the membrane from bonding correctly.
- Ensure the surface is visibly dry and free from standing water.
- Repair cracks, damaged areas and significant surface imperfections before application.
- Test the subfloor moisture level using an appropriate professional testing method.
Mixing and Application
- Add the complete contents of Part B to Part A.
- Mix thoroughly with a slow-speed mechanical mixer until a smooth and uniform mixture is produced.
- Mix complete units to maintain the correct component ratio.
- Do not add water, solvents or other materials.
- Apply the mixed product immediately within its stated working time.
- Spread evenly over the prepared substrate using a suitable trowel or roller.
- Apply at approximately 430–440g per m² to achieve the required coverage.
- Ensure the finished membrane is continuous and free from pinholes, gaps and thin areas.
- Protect the applied membrane from dust, debris and site traffic while curing.
- Allow the membrane to cure before applying compatible primers, smoothing compounds or flooring products.
Important Information
- Mapeproof One Coat is a surface moisture-control membrane and does not replace a structural damp-proof membrane.
- Do not use where the substrate is affected by rising damp or hydrostatic water pressure.
- Do not apply over standing water or visibly wet surfaces.
- Do not use on heated calcium sulphate or anhydrite screeds.
- Do not use on heated subfloors where wood flooring will be installed.
- Underfloor heating systems must be properly commissioned before installation.
- Application, working and curing times may vary with temperature, humidity, ventilation and substrate conditions.
- Do not use material that has started to thicken or cure inside the container.
- The completed membrane must be fully continuous and free from pinholes.
- Always refer to the latest Mapei technical and safety data sheets before mixing or applying the product.
