Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT-DUO: Efficient Heating and Sound Reduction

Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT-DUO is the ideal solution for spaces where quick and effective heating is essential. Perfect for bathrooms or rooms used intermittently, this advanced underlayment responds rapidly to heat demands. The additional fleece layer directs heat efficiently into the floor covering above, speeding up the warm-up process and enhancing sound insulation.
What It Does
Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT-DUO features a polypropylene membrane with a cut-back stud design and a 2 mm fleece layer on the underside. This innovative construction not only facilitates quicker heat-up times but also improves impact sound reduction. It serves as a universal substrate for tile installations, providing uncoupling, crack-bridging, waterproofing, and vapor pressure equalization, and supports the installation of heating cables.
Installation Instructions
Ensure the substrate is level and load-bearing before installing DITRA-HEAT-DUO. Apply a suitable cementitious tile adhesive using a 6 x 6 mm notched trowel. Press the membrane firmly into the adhesive until the fleece layer is fully embedded, allowing it to bond securely. Allow the adhesive to cure as recommended.
For floor areas, install heating cables immediately after the membrane is set, with a spacing of 9 cm (every third stud ≈ 136 W/m²). For wall installations, wait until the adhesive bond has adequately cured. Use a spacing of 6 cm (every second stud ≈ 200 W/m²) or 9 cm (every third stud ≈ 136 W/m²), with mats recommended for walls.
Tiles or stones can be applied directly over the DITRA-HEAT-DUO using the thin-bed method. The adhesive will bond effectively with the membrane’s stud structure.
Product Details
Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT-DUO is made from a durable polypropylene membrane with a cut-back stud pattern and EasyCut gridlines for precise installation. The total thickness, including the stud structure, is approximately 7.5 mm.

30-day return window
Returns accepted within 30 days of delivery. You also have a statutory 14-day cancellation right from the date of receipt.
Items must be unused & in original packaging
Returned goods must be uninstalled, unaltered and in the same condition as received.
Installed or cut items cannot be returned
Once tiles or materials have been cut, altered or installed, no return or refund is possible under any circumstances.
How to start a return
Contact us first at info@tileexperience.co.uk or call 0208 689 4187. Send the item back with your name and order number. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility.
Refund to original payment method
Processed within 3–5 working days of us receiving and approving your return.
Original delivery charges are not refunded. If no refund after 15 business days, contact us.
Damaged or incorrect items
Report within 48 hours of receipt. Email info@tileexperience.co.uk with your order number and photos of the damage. Confirmed replacements are sent next working day at no charge.
Non-stocked brands — restocking fee may apply
Returns for Genesis, Marmox and Bihui carry up to a 20% restocking fee. Schluter trims: 35% standard return, 15% if returning with a replacement order.
Cancellations
Cancel before dispatch for a full refund including delivery. Cancel after dispatch by rejecting the delivery — refund for goods only, not the delivery charge.
