Marmox Multiboard 600 x 1200mm (All Thicknesses)
Waterproof | Insulating | Load-Bearing | Tile Backer Board for Internal Use
The Marmox Multiboard (600 x 1200mm) is a high-performance tile backer board designed for internal use on walls, floors, and ceilings. Suitable for both domestic and commercial settings, this board offers an unbeatable combination of waterproofing, thermal insulation, and mechanical strength. It provides an effective decoupling layer between tiles and substructures, helping to prevent cracks caused by substrate movement while supporting heavy tile installations.
Key Benefits:
- Lightweight: Easy to handle and install, reducing labor time.
- Waterproof: Impermeable to water, making it suitable for wet areas like bathrooms and kitchens.
- Thermal Insulation: Provides excellent thermal resistance (R-values from 0.11 to 1.67 m²K/W, depending on thickness).
- Chemical and Heat Resistance: Resistant to heat and chemicals, suitable for underfloor heating systems.
- Easy to Cut: Can be cut in straight lines with standard tools.
- Enhanced Tile Adhesion: Provides a strong base for tiling or plaster finishing.
- High Load Capacity: Supports over 100 kg/m² on walls and 40 tonnes/m² on floors.
- Flexible Orientation: Can be aligned horizontally or vertically.
- Safe and Sustainable: Contains no hazardous substances, with low environmental impact.
- Certified Quality: ISO 9001, BS EN 5385-2, and CE marked to EN 13164.
- Sound Insulation: Offers impact sound reduction of 21 dB.
Applications:
- Wet rooms, bathrooms, and kitchens
- Underfloor heating systems
- Insulated internal walls and ceilings
- Over timber, concrete, plywood, chipboard or OSB substrates
- Construction of bathroom furniture and shelving (with thicker boards)
- As an alternative to thermal plasterboard (can be plastered or tiled over)
Storage and Installation
- Storage: Store boards flat and cover joints with scrim or reinforcing tape.
- Installation: Follow manufacturer’s fitting instructions for each substrate. Boards can be fixed with adhesive or mechanical fasteners.
Fixing Options Based on Substrate:
Marmox Multiboard can be applied using adhesive, mechanical fixings, or both, depending on the surface. Suitable for:
- Concrete floors
- Timber or metal frames (at 300, 400, or 600 mm centres)
- Plywood or OSB flooring
- Plastered or uneven block walls
- Raised access flooring
